DAISY Book Playback

  • You can playback DAISY digital talking books. Many national library services and content providers publish and distribute DAISY-structure books.

DAISY Online Delivery * protocol

  • You can get your favorite DAISY books, electronic magazines or newspaper quickly on the DAISY Online Delivery* protocol if your library service applies this protocol on their download service. Both wired and wireless interfaces are furnished on the PTX1 (this feature coming soon)
    * DAISY Online Delivery protocol is a standard initiated by the DAISY Consortium, which can be applied to a download service of a library so that end users will access DAISY books more quickly. PLEXTALK has been a core member of the working group to make the specifications and provided a large number of know-how which were acquired by field trials. Please visit the DAISY Consortium web site (http://www.daisy.org/projects/daisy-online-delivery/) for more information.

  • High performance built-in speaker provides you with comfortable listening.
  • The sound volume can be changed from 0 to 25 step.

  • You can use SD card and USB device in addition to CD.

Speed search / navigation

  • Move to the page immediately that you specified using the navigation keypad. Use the 2, 4, 6 and 8 keys (only on PTX/PRO model) to move between level, section, pages and groups.

Bookmark

  • A maximum 10,000 bookmarks can be put in DAISY digital talking books or music CDs. You can easily navigate to a specific bookmark, e.g., where you last stopped listening.

Change of playback speed and tone

  • The playback speed can be changed from 0.5 to 3 times. Tone can be changed from -6 to 6 step.

Voice guidance

  • Voice guidance will guide you in the operation of all functions. Other information such as elapsed time, remaining time and total time of the audio book are available on voice guidance

  • The main body is surrounded by soft plastic material not only to absorb shocks, but also to prevent CD from being scratched when inserting.

Mask cover (only for PTX1/PRO model)

  • The mask cover is a standard accessory. When the mask cover is installed, PTX1/PRO can be used just like a cassette player.
  • The keys that can be used when the mask cover is installed are the Power Key, Play/Stop Key, Rewind Key, Forward Key, Title Selection Key, Volume Key, Tone Key, Eject Key, and Sleep Timer Key.

Rechargeable battery included

  • Provide up to 5 hours for DAISY book playback on a CD disc.

Sleep timer function

  • You can set the sleep timer to automatically turn the power off after a specified period of time. The maximum time is 60 minutes, definable in increments of 15 minutes.

Back-up

  • A DAISY CD can be backed up to a SD card and USB device.
  • Backup between the SD card and the USB device is also possible.
  • The title backed up to a SD card and a USB device can be deleted by navigating the menu.
    Text / HTML contents playback using embedded Text-To-Speech engine
  • PTX1 identifies text/html files on the SD card automatically and reads the files using the built-in text-to-speech (TTS) engine. You can navigate text and html files by paragraph, sentence, word, character, percentage, etc.
