On Online, CD or SD, the PTX1 is a fantastic way for you to enjoy your favorite audio titles such as; DAISY* Digital Talking Books, music CD's, MP3 CD's, or audio books.
* DAISY is an acronym that stands for Digital Accessible Information System. It is the format that is being developed as the international standard for digital talking books and accepted at many library services for people with visually impairment or print disability. Please visit the DAISY Consortium web site (http://www.daisy.org/) for further details about DAISY.
PTX1 satisfies both people who want simple operation of the player, particularly for leisure readings, and people who need more complex navigation for professional use. (NOTE: only for PTX1/PRO model only)
- With a mask cover on the PTX1, the more complex navigation keys are hidden, so you can easily operate only the play function.
- When the mask is removed, you can operate additional functions, e.g. navigate a DAISY book by chapter, section, page, phrase, etc.
Comfortable listening
You can enjoy the DAISY digital talking books at your favorite sound volume.
- The voice speed and tonal quality can be adjusted for easier listening.
- A bookmark can be placed wherever you desire to highlight a passage for reference.
Easy operation
- Voice guidance will guide you to operate all functions.
- When the mask cover is installed, you can easily operate your favorite audio titles.
Convenient
- You can get your favorite DAISY books, electronic magazines or newspaper quickly on the DAISY Online Delivery * protocol if your library service applies this protocol on their download service. Both wired and wireless interfaces are furnished on the PTX1 (this feature coming soon)
* DAISY Online Delivery protocol is a standard initiated by the DAISY Consortium, which can be applied to a download service of a library so that end users will access DAISY books more quickly. PLEXTALK has been a core member of the working group to make the specifications and provided a large number of know-how which were acquired by field trials. Please visit the DAISY Consortium web site (http://www.daisy.org/projects/daisy-online-delivery/) for more information. - The sleep timer function turns the PTX1 off by itself automatically at the time set.
- DAISY books and other content on a CD disc can be backed up to an SD card or a USB device.
